A Very Special Day for Scott, Cristi & all our Family!

Our Redwood Hill Farm property on Thomas Rd. in Sebastopol was absolutely stunning with Redwood boughs, pink & white flowers and all of our big family present for the wedding of my brother Scott & his longtime girlfriend Cristi.
They met many years ago when both lived on the island of Kaua'i, and have been an integral part of our family farm for years. Scott has been our creamery warehouse manager, farm manager, and is now our Cheese room manager. Cristi & their 4 yr. old daughter Nicole (Our 4th generation with goats!) help with feeding milk to the baby goat kids & enjoy tending our amazing gardens at the farm where they live.
The weekend was warm & wonderful with the beautiful ceremony, sounds of laughter & pool splashing, and reconnecting with family & friends from near & far. Congratulations again Scott & Cristi!

NEWS FLASH! Kefir health benefits!
Another well respected nutritionist knows all about Redwood Hill Farm kefir, here is a quote from Liz Applegate, columnist & sports nutritionist:
"Teaming with healthy live bacteria, goat milk kefir supplies your intestinal tract with microscopic “soldiers” that provide a barrier in your intestinal tract. Studies show that people who eat a daily serving of probiotics, such as goat milk kefir, have fewer negative GI symptoms and a stronger immune system. Include one-cup serving daily over cereal, topped with fruit or in smoothies - a great new option for a nutritious breakfast!"
- Liz Applegate, director of sports nutrition, UC Davis, nutrition columnist for Runner’s World and author of Eat Smart, Play Hard
BTW, it's delicious too! Thanks Liz, much appreciated.

Gold For The Goats!
Everyone here at Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery takes tremendous pride in what we do, from the hard work on the farm to the many tasks at the creamery. So when our cheeses are recognized for excellence in judging competitions around the country, it validates all the hard work of many, and reinforces our core values of quality & sustainability.

Cheeses Honored
The 2009 California State Fair has just released cheese judging results, and four were awarded medals for superior taste! Our most highly decorated cheese, 'Camellia, was awarded a Gold Medal. This is our luscious, bloomy rind camembert-style cheese, named after one of Jennifers' favorite saanen does. Another of our artisan, rind ripened cheeses, 'Bucheret', was awarded a Silver Medal. Similar to the french 'Bucheron', this creamy & semi-soft goat cheese is my personal favorite. And we're very excited that our brand new flavored chevre 'Fire Roasted Chili'was also awarded a Silver Medal! This soft, spreadable cheese is already a favorite of our family & many customers, perfect with blue corn tortilla chips. Our best selling 'Traditional Chevre'is also a Silver Medal winner, so versatile for sweet & savory recipes.

It's Your Choice
While the family & all of us at Redwood Hill share the pride for these award winners & all of our natural cheeses, yogurts & kefirs, we realize that you are the ultimate judge. From our family to yours, thank you for choosing to support our certified humane goat dairy, sustainably farmed & family owned since 1968.
And our award winning goats hope to see you at the California State Fair later this summer, proudly wearing their new Medals.....naturally!

Come "Get Your Goat!"
Our family loves to greet our loyal Redwood Hill Farm fans, and meet new friends also, while enjoying the many fine events throughout Northern California & beyond. Clark has spent the better part of his life working with & enjoying cheeses from around the World, and his new book "American Cheeses", features my sister Jennifer & our Redwood Hill Farm cheeses, along with the very best cheesemakers from all across the U.S. It's a very handsome, useful book and written with Clark's inimitable personality. This will be a book signing, cheese nibbling, wine sipping event at J Winery on Saturday, July 11th from 1 - 4 pm. I will be serving our finest artisan, rind-ripened cheeses, so please join us! here is the J Winery link, check their events page.
